Professor, University of Nevada School of Medicine, Department of Physiology & Cell Biology, Reno, NV.

 

Naturalized U.S. Citizen (1967). College (Gymnasium) with major in physics and mathematics. Medical school (Germany) and research activities in neurophysiology, 1954-1960.  M.D. and Ph.D. Equivalent (Physiology), 1960.  Rotating internship plus one year of pathology residency in approved Canadian Hospital, 1960-62.  Research Scientist, Aerospace Medicine and Biophysics, Los Angeles, 1962-64.  Joined UCLA Faculty as Assistant Professor in 1964.  By 1971, he held the position of Associate Professor of Anatomy, Oral Medicine and Diagnosis, UCLA Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, and membership in the UCLA Brain Research Institute. - Professor of Anatomy, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, 1971-1980.  On active military duty as Major, USAF Medical Corps, 1980-83.  In military residency program, expanded horizon from gross anatomy to radiologic anatomy & diagnostic radiology, 1980-81.  Served as Director of Research, Clinical Investigative Facility at the US Air Force World Referral Center, Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, 1981-83.  In this capacity, he was responsible for the administrative, scientific and clinical correlation of more than 200 ongoing medical research projects and the management of a multi-disciplinary medical research and training facility. In addition, he was responsible for the design and initial construction of a new 6.1 Million Dollar Clinical Investigative Facility.  Received USAF Commendation Medal for administrative excellence. Continued to hold an Adjunct Professorship (Anatomy) at the University of Texas System from 1980 to 1988. -  Residency training program in Psychiatry at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, California, 1984-87.  Chief Resident in Psychiatry, 1986-1987.  Fellow in Academic Psychiatry, Loma Linda University Medical Center, 1987-1988.
